Important — please read carefully.
Equities Analyzer provides market data and analysis tools for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on this site is investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice. You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions.
All market data shown on the Service is sourced from third parties (including, without limitation, Yahoo Finance, the Nasdaq Trader symbol directory, and the TMX Money company directory). We do not produce, audit, or verify this data, and we accept no responsibility for its accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any purpose. Do not rely on it for trading or any other consequential decision.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Equities Analyzer(“we,” “us,” or “the Operator”) governing your use of the Equities Analyzerwebsite, web application, and any related services we provide (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account, checking the box to accept these Terms, or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account and do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You may only use the Service if all of the following are true:
- You are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater).
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
- You are not barred from using the Service under the laws of your jurisdiction or any jurisdiction in which the Service is offered.
- You will provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account.
3. Your account
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
- Keep your password confidential and not share your account credentials with anyone.
- Use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.
- Take reasonable steps to keep your account secure, including keeping your contact email up to date.
We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe it has been compromised, is being used to violate these Terms, or to protect the Service or other users.
4. Description of the Service
The Service aggregates and displays publicly available market data for equities, exchange-traded funds, and similar instruments listed on supported exchanges. Features may include daily closing prices, fund holdings, dividend history, screeners, watchlists, holdings- change events, derived performance metrics, and private notes.
The Service is provided “as is” and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time, in whole or in part, without notice.
5. Not investment, tax, or legal advice
Equities Analyzer is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, tax advisor, or law firm, and does not provide personalized recommendations of any kind.
All content on the Service — including prices, holdings, metrics, screeners, charts, notes, summaries, and any commentary generated by automated tools — is provided strictly for informational and educational purposes. It does not constitute, and must not be relied upon as, financial advice, an investment recommendation, an offer to buy or sell any security, or a solicitation of any offer to buy or sell any security.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Investing in securities involves substantial risk, including the risk of loss of principal.
- Past performance, including the historical returns shown by the Service, is not indicative of future results.
- You will consult a qualified, licensed professional before making any investment, tax, or legal decision based in whole or in part on information from the Service.
- You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions and for any gains or losses resulting from them.
6. Market data — sources and no responsibility
Data sources. The Service aggregates and displays market data obtained from third-party providers. As of the date of these Terms, those sources include (but are not limited to):
- Yahoo Finance — daily closing prices, dividend history, fund metadata, fund holdings, and corporate-action information, accessed through unofficial client libraries.
- Nasdaq Trader symbol directory (
nasdaqlisted.txtandotherlisted.txt) — discovery of US-listed stocks and ETFs. - TMX Money company directory — discovery of TSX-listed equities and funds.
- Derived metrics (yields, returns, drawdowns, volatility, and similar calculations) that are computed by the Service from the data above.
We may add, change, or stop using any data source at any time and without notice. Where third-party data is governed by the source provider’s own terms of use, those terms may also apply to your use of that data through the Service.
No responsibility for data quality. We do not produce, audit, validate, normalize, or otherwise verify the underlying data, and we do not control the systems that provide it. We make no representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, correctness, currency, availability, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose of any data, price, holding, metric, chart, calculation, signal, screen result, or other content displayed by the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we expressly disclaim any and all liability arising from errors, omissions, delays, gaps, interruptions, revisions, corruption, or any other defect in the data, whether caused by us, by a third-party source, by a transmission error, or by any other cause.
You acknowledge that prices shown are end-of-day and may be delayed, revised, or replaced without notice; that historical data may be retroactively amended by sources; that holdings data may be incomplete, stale, or limited to a top-N subset; that derived metrics inherit every limitation of the underlying data; and that the Service is not a real-time quotation system, market data feed, or trading venue, and must not be used for time- sensitive, execution-grade, regulatory, or recordkeeping purposes. Always verify any number that matters against a primary source before acting on it.
7. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations, including securities laws.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or any underlying systems, networks, or data.
- Scrape, crawl, harvest, or otherwise extract data from the Service through any automated means without our prior written consent.

- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its content without our prior written consent.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person or entity.
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others.
8. Your content
The Service lets you create private content, such as notes, watchlists, and saved screeners (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content.
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, back up, and display your User Content solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service to you. We do not use your User Content to make recommendations to other users or to train third-party machine-learning systems.
You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that your User Content does not infringe any third party’s rights and complies with these Terms and applicable law.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, look and feel, and any original content we author (excluding User Content and third-party data) is owned by the Operator and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in the Service except for the limited license to use it as described here.
Equities Analyzer and any associated logos are trademarks of the Operator. You may not use them without our prior written consent.
10. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in that policy. At a minimum, we collect the email address you register with, a one-way hash of your password, your IANA timezone, the date and version of these Terms you accepted, and any User Content you create.
11. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at (enable JavaScript to view email). When your account is closed, your User Content will be deleted in accordance with our data-retention practices, subject to any legal hold or backup retention period.
We may suspend or terminate your account or the Service, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, including if you violate these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including sections 5, 6, 9, 12, 13, 14, and 17).
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and any warranty arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free; that defects will be corrected; that any data or calculation will be accurate or reliable; or that the Service will meet your requirements.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will the Operator, its affiliates, or any of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, suppliers, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if the Operator has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event will the Operator’s total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to the Operator for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the liability, or (b) one hundred United States dollars (US$100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, so some of the limitations above may not apply to you. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Operator and its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents, from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the version number and “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will give you notice — for example, by email or by requiring you to re-accept the updated Terms before you continue using the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You and the Operator agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the courts located in [Your jurisdiction], and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
[Bracketed placeholders above should be replaced with the Operator’s actual governing-law jurisdiction. Consider replacing this section with a binding-arbitration clause if appropriate for your business model.]
